Lez Cope Newman (Honorary Freeman)
Lez was born in Loughborough and has a wealth of knowledge of the town and surrounding area.
He has developed over the years a career in interior design taking on large and small commissions. His flare is evident as you will see when you visit us at Holywell House.
A well known figure in Loughborough, in June 2019 he was proudly made Honorary Freeman of the Borough of Charnwood
Lez has worked with many famous celebrities including: Diana Dors, Lynne Perrie (Ivy in Coronation Street ), Liz Dawn (Vera Duckworth in Coronation Street ). Other celebrities he has worked alongside are Bucks Fizz, Michael Ball, Marti Webb, Melanie Stace, Anthony Head, Sir Steve Redgrave, Steve Backley, Peter Davidson and HRH the Duke of Edinburgh.
Lez has compered many local charity functions and concerts and has raised money for both local and nation charities.
Lez now enjoys being an After Dinner Speaker giving talks on various subjects and experiences
Derek Hunter
Derek was born in Scotland and moved to this area with his family in 1976 and from an early age, music has played a large part in his life. After a period of being an accomplished performer on stage, he now devotes a lot of his spare time to being musical director for many local theatre groups and has conducted shows such as: Chess, Mack and Mabel, Chicago, A Chorus Line, South Pacific, Whistle Down The Wind, Hello Dolly, Oliver and Jesus Christ Superstar.
In July 2024 he was delighted to accepted “Best Musical Director” at an award ceremony in Leicester for his work on “School of Rock”
Now a leading guest house in the area, Holywell House has attracted much attention, because of its interior design and in 2003 were winners of the Best Commercial Display and joint winners of Best Pub/ Guest House in “Loughborough in Bloom.”
We were delighted to win Channel 4 programme “Four in A Bed in their 2022 season.
Local stars and performers have enjoyed our hospitality and through this Local Radio Leicester have presented live broadcasts from our home.
